Latex Designer for Katy Perry

katy-perry-yellow-latex-dress-featuredEver wonder about Katy Perry’s fun and colorful wardrobe picks? Look to Shhh! Couture, a British label for tips and tricks. 29-year-old Shoshanna Ani is the designer of Shhh! Couture, a fashion company that specializes in latex fashions. All of the designs are made to order for each individual request.

“I get requests from all over the UK, America and have sent lots of Star Trek dresses to Canada. I had lots of requests for Star Wars outfits recently. My busiest time of year is during the global Comic-Con season, March to November. “I do a Supergirl suit that can come with or without a cape. My Poison Ivy outfit is really popular and she’s inspired another body suit that has lots of different colours for Autumn. I’m currently working on an anime design. They’re usually quite complicated,” the designer told Exeter Express and Echo.

Ani also creates customized swimwear and lingerie, along with wedding dresses and pin-up inspired fashion— all from latex. Performers like Katy Perry, Alexandra Burke and Euro-Vision winner 2014, Conchita Wurst have all worn her custom creations. Ani received her BA in Fashion from Plymouth College of Art, working with latex during her second year in college.

For her future plans on the horizon, Ani would love to open up her own shop where she can focus on her projects. Find out more about her from www.shhhcouturelatex.co.uk and Etsy. One thing is for sure, we love all things latex. Check out our wide variety of latex sheeting options available.

The made-to-order approach really stood out, especially with clients requesting Star Trek and Star Wars pieces; it shows how cosplay and high-fashion latex are blending more than ever.

Cool detail about Shoshanna Ani starting latex work during her second year at Plymouth College of Art, it makes sense how she carved out such a niche early.

Interesting that her busiest season lines up with Comic-Con from March to November, which explains the demand for Supergirl and Poison Ivy suits.

I like that she’s branching into anime designs now, since those can get intricate, and it sounds like a natural extension of her comic-inspired pieces.

I didn’t realize Katy Perry’s latex looks were tied to a small British label like Shhh! Couture, that makes the whole thing feel more bespoke than pop spectacle.

The range surprised me most, from wedding dresses to pin-up lingerie all in latex, which isn’t something you usually associate with bridalwear at all.
