Create your own classic Tin Man costume with a few easy to follow steps in this do it yourself tutorial. First, gather together all of your materials:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"position:relative; left:45px;\">\n<li>4&#215;6 foam board or stiff cardboard<\/li>\n<li>10 inches x 20 inches cardboard for collar<\/li>\n<li>duct tape<\/li>\n<li>a toy axe<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtrends.com\/products.White-sticky-back,Velcro,Notions\">1 yard velcro<\/a><\/li>\n<li>thread<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtrends.com\/products.Silver,PVC,Fabric\">2 yards silver vinyl fabric\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>plastic funnel &#8211; large enough to fit child&#8217;s head<\/li>\n<li>silver spray paint<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtrends.com\/products.Sport-1-inch,Elastic,Notions\">elastic for waist of pants<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"width:100%;\">Once you&#8217;ve got everything together, let&#8217;s get to work:<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Measure your child&#8217;s shoulder width<\/li>\n<li>Cut an oval shape &#8211; extending the shoulder width from the foam board \/ cardboard.<\/li>\n<li>Cut a hole in the oval to allow for the childs head to go through.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the barrel for the body from cardboard. \u00a0Make sure it can go around the entire circumference of the shoulder.<\/li>\n<li>Cut holes in the barrel for the arms to go through.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the collar piece from cardboard.<\/li>\n<li>Cut your vinyl fabric to match the cardboard and foam sections you have already cut. \u00a0Allow for a 1\/2 inch seam allowance.<\/li>\n<li>Duct tape the shoulder section to the body-barrel section.<\/li>\n<li>Duct tape the collar to the shoulder section.<\/li>\n<li>Sew your vinyl fabric pieces together. \u00a0For the rear of the body section, instead of sewing a seam apply your velcro to allow for taking the costume on and off.<\/li>\n<li>Attached your vinyl fabric to the cardboard \/ foam board. \u00a0You can use glue or hand tack it in place.<\/li>\n<li>Sew a basic pair of pants with elastic waistband.<\/li>\n<li>Spray paint the funnel and allow several days to air out.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A cute pick for kids but equally cool for adults, everyone will instantly recognize this classic costume.
