For supplies, gather together some bright faux leather, matching thread and a zipper to coordinate. This is a beginner level sewing project that anyone can recreate.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">For the first step, trace a skirt that fits well onto dotted paper to create a pattern.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Next, cut out the pattern using a pair of scissors.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Unfold your faux leather fabric and begin to pin the pattern down on the &#8220;wrong&#8221; side of the fabric, which means the opposite of the fun, colorful side.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">After the pinning is complete, use your scissors and cut out the fabric with the pattern attached.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">The next step is to create a waistband and pin it to the skirt fabric with the right sides together.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Sew the waistband using the sewing machine and a zipper approximately 7 inches in length. The wonderful quality about faux leather is that no hemming is required, so you won&#8217;t have to worry about any fussy fraying along the edges.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Lastly\u00a0pin the opened zipper onto the skirt and sew together with the sewing machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The final result is gorgeous, and Dulce Candy styled her bubblegum pink skater skirt with a chic white and black polka dotted blouse. \u00a0If you love looking polished, pair with a fitted blazer, wool hat and cute crossbody bag for a look that&#8217;s perfect for fall.
