Ethereal and distinctly feminine, Riccardo Tisci\u2019s Givenchy Couture collection for Spring\/Summer 2011 was a dream come true. With an opulent backdrop, the couture collection featured rows of cream colored dresses, adorned with decorative zippers and bold pops of color. The collection was all about contrast, showcasing swoon worthy gowns with edgy zippers in a fresh, unique way.<\/p>\n
One instance featured the zipper placement right around a model’s waist. Another set of zippers served as trim along the armhole edges, definitely a big wow factor. The zippers used appear to be doubled ended zippers, similar to those found on athletic bags or track jackets. Inspired by Japanese dancer Kazuo Ohno, Tisci combined architectural design elements with soft, feminine silhouettes. Many of the gowns featured gorgeous cut out detailing, with the models showing off dipped hems along the back.
