\"latex-and-lace-ball-gown-5\"<\/a>Sara Linke, a recent fashion design graduate, has created a bold and innovative collection using latex and lace. Sara studied fashion at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Schneeburg, at the West Saxony University of Applied Sciences, Zwickau, and envisioned a collection of modern outerwear for her fashion collection.<\/p>\n

Taking a fresh approach, Linke decided to use unconventional means by using lated and lace materials. Gabriela Schellner, the Head of Textile Development at Karl Mayer, and her team lent Sara the needed lace fabric for her project.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen lace and latex separately, but when combined together, they create a fresh effect that\u2019s full of energy. For example, Sara used different techniques to achieve interesting new variations. \u201cLace is seen as something innocent and playful, whereas latex is slightly edgy and unfamiliar. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, the two materials are similar in some respects \u2013 for example, they are both seductive,\u201d Sara said about her collection. When a traditional fabric, like lace, meets a fabric that\u2019s in-the-now, like latex, the results can be very intriguing. We\u2019re bound to hear more about this rising fashion designer in the years to come.<\/span><\/p>\n
