We don’t know how, nor do we quite know why, but suddenly the internet has been abuzz with Chris Pratt’s ‘Jurassic World’ leather vest costumes online. According to BoxOfficeMojo, Jurassic World has officially hit the #5 highest grossing film of all time, banking in at a measly $1,465,838,000 in revenue. Pratt brings to life a velociraptor zookeeper, Owen Grady, who fights alongside Bryce Howard’s female protagonist, Claire.
The pair struggle to rescue her nephews, who find themselves lost in the park amidst a loose dinosaur, and encounter terrifying scenes familiar to most Jurassic Park fans. Chris Pratt plays a humble, dino-loving cowboy who spends most of the movie wearing a gray button up, brown khakis and his infamous brown leather vest. His outerwear costume is versatile, giving him the ability to move freely and run for his life or desperately fight off a prehistoric animal. We have to admit, it is a really nice vest. Eye-catching and appealing with it’s high quality leather material, the vest has a collarless design, four flap pockets and YKK zip closure.
In contrast to the rough and rugged Pratt, prim and proper Claire prefers to keep clean and remain behind the scenes. Most of her wardrobe choices are in neutral tones of white or taupe, and her signature bob hairstyle almost never falls out of place. The movie follows Pratt’s character development, showing his empathetic side as he works with the feared velociraptors instead of forcing them to act as work animals.
Hey, not many people can say that they’ve out run a genetically engineered dinosaur, live to talk about it, and still sport the same leather vest. For those looking ahead towards Halloween, or perhaps a last-minute Comic Con cosplay, the internet has been exploding with Pratt’s leather vest replicas.
