DIY Leather Overall Dress

BY admin on September 4, 2015

Overalls might have been just a phase for some, but it looks like they’re back with a vengeance in faux leather materials. Luxe leather overalls have resurfaced, spotted on the likes of big time models and It-girl street style bloggers around the globe. YouTube user, “Pink Chocolate Break” created a cool way to make a pair of faux leather overalls for yourself.

One glance at this drool-worthy faux leather overalls tutorial has us shaking our heads, wondering why didn’t we think of that sooner!?

  1. “Pink Chocolate Break” advises on picking out a skirt that already fits well from your closet. Use the skirt as a model for a makeshift pattern and lay over top the faux leather fabric.
  2. Then, cut out your desired shape, moving carefully and cutting straight lines.
  3. Next, turn the fabric inside out and sew along the lines. Make sure to sew the borders to create a neat, polished finish.
  4. The next step is to create the top part of the overalls. After cutting out the top shape, fold it doubled over and sew along the lines.
  5. Then, you’ll want to add it to the top part of the dress and sew it. The aim is to sew it in such a way that it makes a little box. For a full list of instructions, watch the video tutorial above.

After this short and sweet Youtube tutorial, you’ll have all the instructions you need to create a chic pair of faux leather overalls for yourself. Don’t forget, check out the fun colors and faux leather fabric options we’ve got in stock here at MJTrends.
