DIY Snakeskin headband

Statement accessories in exotic prints are not only trending, but also easy to make yourself. Anything but ordinary, opting for a luxe print like faux snakeskin adds interest to a more basic look. Easy and fun, try creating your own faux snakeskin headband tutorial from Tomiko at Kiku Corner.

With this short supply list, it’s easy to get started with this fun DIY project:

1. You’ll need one piece of faux snakeskin leather in the dimensions (2.5 cm by 35 cm),
2. Two metal dome studs with prongs
3. One dark grey ribbon (0.5 cm by 40 cm) and glue suitable for leather fabric.

Now that you’ve got your supplies, follow these instructions:

1. First, on one side of the leather strip, cut out corners at an angle to create a pointed end.
2. Repeat on the other end of the leather piece. Next, you’ll want to cut the ribbon in half to make two 20cm length pieces.
3. Use glue to attach one end of the ribbon to the opposing side of one of the pointed ends of the leather piece.
4. Repeat on the other side, using the other piece of the ribbon. Work fast and before the glue dries completely, use the stud to pierce through the good side of the leather piece and the ribbon. This reinforces it completely, so make sure to repeat on the other side.
