When it comes to latex creations, UK-based designer Sasha Louise is one to watch. Louise recently kicked off a Kickstarter campaign entitled “Revolutionizing Latex” to further her support of high fashion inspired latex clothing. Sasha aims to push the boundaries of fashion design by revolutionizing latex for both fashion and latex lovers alike. Louise graduated from London College of Fashion in 2011, and since then, she has specialized in working with latex fabric. Bridging the gap between high fashion and the underground, Sasha is known for creating wearable latex clothing. Using a creative approach, Louise has a unique spin on classic picks and uses latex to create wearable, everyday clothing.

We love her use of black latex for a pair of sleek leggings, a totally on-trend pair of high-waisted shorts and a slinky pencil skirt. Everything from her label “Sasha Louise” is handmade and created by Sasha. From her initial steps with design, pattern cutting, to making of the piece with latex fabric and overall garment construction, Sasha puts in the time and effort to create these unique pieces. She even created her own material called latex net, which she makes by hand. The latex net fabric originated as an accident during an experimental phase while studying fashion. She takes the latex and puts it through a special chemical treatment, ensuring that the latex will be soft to the touch and easy to glide on and off the skin.

The designer has been a cult-favorite by celebrities, including singers Paloma Faith, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Nicole Scherzinger, and Iggy Azeala. The singers sported her distinct latex creations, featuring grid-like cut out patterning and an emphasis on her form-fitting pieces. The Sasha Louise latex designs have also been featured in Rabid Magazine, iD Magazine and Papercut Magazine, among many other media outlets. Sasha Louise is currently working hard and selling her products through her online shop, and her pieces are also available at Wolf & Badger.

Sasha just recently released a new accessory range, and she is underway with designing a new womenswear collection, along with debuting her first ever menswear collection. Although her Kickstarter campaign did not go all the way through, it’s clear that the sky is the limit with this passionate latex fashion designer.
