DIY – no sew veggie leather peplum belt

BY admin on January 25, 2016

DIY Blogger, Michele Ng, shows everyone how it’s done with this amazing tutorial to create a no-sew peplum belt. Simple and easy, this tutorial is a definite must for those crunched for time.

  1. First, she gathered her materials, which included her faux leather fabric. Make sure to read her tutorial thoroughly for additional information on measurements.
  2. Next, she used some string and measured out her waistline.
  3. She placed the string on the faux leather fabric, and marked out the circular measurements using a pen. Towards the front edge, she created a small angle for the opening section of the belt. She opted for 1.5 inches on both sides, and suggested that you can also try it on later and make adjustments.
  4. Cut out your fabric around the circle. Try the piece on and fit it around your waist. If you prefer it more tighter, adjust accordingly by cutting off some of the fabric from the front sections.
  5. For her belt, she chose a ribbon closure for an added sense of girlish charm. You can also use leather straps for more of an edgy vibe.

When added to a sleek black pencil skirt, the peplum belt is certainly the perfect finishing touch. This versatile piece is a great addition to every wardrobe. It’s never been easier to elevate your look with a cool leather peplum belt.

Let your imagination roam and make your own variation to this tutorial. For a punk inspired look, add studs or spikes for a rebel without a cause vibe. Or, secure with matching leather straps for more of a rock n’ roll feel.
