DIY veggie leather cuffs with spikes

BY admin on January 16, 2017

In need of an easy DIY that’s edgy yet effortless? Look to this do it yourself tutorial for spiked veggie-leather cuffs for a casual pair of jeans. For styling ideas, wear a flirty blouse and sneakers for a cute vibe.

  1. Start by getting a pair of your favorite jeans, ideally plain and unmarked on the calf part of the denim fabric. Grab a pair of scissors, a needle and thread, some spikes or studs and your leather fabric.
  2. Fold the cuff of the jeans back about two inches. Use a piece of chalk to mark the exact measurement of the cuff on the leather fabric.
  3. Then, cover the cuff with the leather fabric and adhere into place.
  4. Next, you’ll work on adding the studded designs. For this tutorial, they used a total of five studs on the bottom edge of the cuff.
  5. Using the needle and thread, sew into place, and then you’re good to go!

For more ways to wear it, try throwing on a scoopneck tee and a carryall handbag for an easy look. If you choose to add spikes instead, match your look with a solid pair of pumps for a cool look.

This tutorial is just one of many ways to exercise your creativity, so don’t be afraid to try your own variation. Other creatives have also mixed in pearls, beads, studs and spikes for embellishments on their denim cuffs.

Want to try the look for yourself? All you’ll need to grab is some veggie-leather fabric and the spiked or studded accents of your choice. Try on regular indigo blue colored denim, black jeans, or another color variation that you love. Have fun with this easy, low key do it yourself tutorial that’s simply perfect for the new year.
