Best cosplay from Reddit

From Maleficent to Psylocke, there are tons of latex cosplay costumes to get inspired by on Reddit. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites to feature here on our blog. Cosplay queen Yaya Han leads the pack with a seriously sultry Catwoman costume.

Featuring a signature black latex catsuit, Yaya knows how to strike a pose for the camera. Han also pays attention to all the little details, including sharpened claws, pointed ears, and reflective goggles to complete her look. Yaya Han also teamed up with cosplay artist Mostflogged, who posed as Poison Ivy. The pair was photographed by LJinto in 2011, and the two definitely know their stuff when it comes to creative cosplay.

In anticipation for the next female Marvel superhero to hit the big screen, cosplay artist Marie-Claude Bourbonnais turned up the volume in a Ms. Marvel cosplay. Featuring an ultra sleek look, Marie-Claude looks like she jumped straight out of the pages of the comic books with this costume.

Featuring a fitted bodysuit, over the arm gloves, and a golden lightning bolt on her chest, Bourbonnais slayed this look. Photographer Ron Gejon snapped a seriously tough looking shot of the geek chic cosplayer. Omi-K Gibson looked electrifying in her cosplay as Laughing Octopus from the Metal Gear video game franchise. With a futuristic look, the bodysuit features panel of silver and transparent fabric. She completed her cosplay by sporting icy blue contacts.

Another cosplay queen, Hikaru Jan, stole the show with her bold latex look as Ryuko Matoi from the anime series Kill la Kill. Ryuko’s costume is certainly not for the faint of heart, and Hikaru Jan wears the cosplay with ease. Featuring a theme of black and red, the latex fabric has a shimmery effect in the photograph by Roger Lee. Artist Vampy Bit Me looks like cosplay perfection with her Psylocke cosplay.

She stayed true to her original costume design, featuring a fitted blue bodysuit with glossy latex sheen. Whether she was wearing her original purple costume or her all black version, both variations look totally amazing and on-point. Some of our other favorites included Princess Bubblegum, a TARDIS cosplay dress from Doctor Who and a mesmerizing Maleficent costume made from latex.

Pickup all your costume fabrics and supplies with MJTrends and maybe you’ll be the next feature on the Reddit cosplay channel.

I appreciated the shoutout to the more creative entries like the TARDIS dress and latex Maleficent. It shows there’s room for both comic accuracy and imaginative reinterpretations in cosplay.

Hikaru Jan’s Ryuko Matoi cosplay seems like a tough one to pull off, but the black and red latex with that shimmer effect must look incredible under good lighting. Great pick highlighting Roger Lee’s photo.

That Laughing Octopus cosplay by Omi-K Gibson sounds wild, especially with the silver panels and transparent sections. The icy blue contacts must have tied the whole futuristic aesthetic together really well.

The Marie-Claude Bourbonnais Ms. Marvel look sounded spot on with the fitted bodysuit and lightning bolt detail. I like that you called out Ron Gejon’s photography too, since it really sells the comic-accurate vibe.

The Yaya Han and Mostflogged Poison Ivy collaboration being shot back in 2011 was a nice detail. It’s interesting how those older shoots still hold up compared to newer cosplay trends.

Vampy Bit Me sticking to Psylocke’s original design is refreshing, especially with that glossy blue bodysuit. I also like that you mentioned both the purple and black variations being equally strong.

Yaya Han’s Catwoman really stood out, especially the reflective goggles and claw details you mentioned. It’s cool seeing how those small touches elevate a simple black latex catsuit into something so polished.
