DIY veggie leather corset

If you’ve ever dreamed about rocking a fierce leather cosplay to the Renaissance Festival, you’ll have to check out this amazing do it yourself project by LinzMushel.

  1. Wear a plain tshirt and begin by placing duct tape all over your waist. You’ll be using the tape to create a pattern for your corset, so cover the exact parts of your body that you wish to cover with the corset.
  2. After taping the entire corset pattern, get help from a friend to make marks using a ruler and permanent marker on the tape.
  3. Next, they will need to cut a straight line down the back of the shirt and tape. On the front, repeat the steps and make straight lines down the center of the tape and shirt.
  4. Cut out each strip of the tape into separate panels. When you’re finished, lay out the duct tape shirt and pattern, a ruler, your faux leather fabric and scissors onto the floor. Lie the tape strips onto the faux leather fabric.
  5. These will serve as your patterns, so slowly use a permanent marker to mark out the patterns onto the faux leather fabric.
  6. Cut out each piece, and then align them together. Pin each piece to one another, working carefully to not damage the fabric.
  7. On the back of the corset, you’ll need to attach large eyelets along the spine. This will serve as the lace-up corset detailing along the back.
  8. When you complete both rows of eyelets, you can use a piece of faux leather fabric or suede to lace the corset into place.

The finished result looks like a dream come true! Style with leather accents, like bracelets, leg garters or bracers for a complete medieval inspired look.
