Muslin fabric?

Any suggestions on what would be a suitable "test" material to try out a pattern in before cutting it in latex? What would have a similar stretch?

Any 4-way stretch material that you can pick up on the cheap.  The amount of stretch you need in a test material depends on what gauge of latex you are going to get.

The .80mm gauge doesn't have much stretch, whereas the .20mm is very light and you would want a thin spandex or similar type material.
