Cosplay is a trend that has been growing in the U.S. There are now several conventions with massive attendance where users can show off their designs: Anime Los Angeles, Mega Con in Florida, and Comic Con are a few of the big ones. With Halloween right around the corner, we figured we would share some cosplay inspired designs that we have recently noticed.
There is the Baroness from G.I. Joe. She played a wealthy European aristocrat who served as Cobra’s intelligence officer. In the series she wore a full on black catsuit with Cobra logo emblazoned on the front.
Silk Spectre is an oldy but goody – brought back to life by the slinky latex catsuit used in the movie “The Watchmen”. She’s the daughter of a super hero who comes back for one last job to save the world from a potentially cataclysmic ending.
Another popular movie icon often portrayed at Cosplay conventions is the superherione Laura Croft popularized in video games and the movie series “Tomb Raider” starring Angelina Jolie.
Any of these are great for halloween costumes, and if you’re into cosplay already – you can get double use out of your outfits this year!

The point about getting double use out of cosplay outfits is spot on, since those builds take time and money, so it’s nice to have a practical excuse like Halloween to wear them again.
The Baroness mention brought me back, especially the detail about the black catsuit with the Cobra logo, which is instantly recognizable and actually pretty doable with the right materials.
Interesting that you called Silk Spectre an oldy but goody, because the Watchmen latex suit really did revive that character for cosplay circles in a big way.
Using Lara Croft as an example makes sense since she crosses both gaming and film, and her outfit is one of those rare looks that works for both cosplay events and Halloween parties.
I like how you tied the convention scene like Anime Los Angeles and Mega Con into Halloween ideas, since a lot of us already have pieces from builds sitting around unused.
