MJTrends (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.mjtrends.com, an online store for specialty fabrics, sewing supplies, custom-fit patterns, tutorials, and related tools. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to our website, checkout, newsletter, forum, blog, and the internal tools we use to run the business.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us and information created when you use the site:

• Account and order data: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, order history, and account password (stored in hashed form).
• Custom patterns: body measurements and fit notes you submit so we can generate a pattern for you.
• Payments: card payments are processed by Elavon Converge. PayPal checkout is processed by PayPal. We keep order records needed to fulfill orders, handle returns, prevent fraud, and meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Newsletter and contact: email address if you subscribe or email us.
• Forum and support: posts, messages, and related account details if you use those features.
• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar log data. We use cookies and similar technologies for the cart, login, and site performance.

How we use information

• Process, ship, and support orders and custom patterns
• Create and maintain your account
• Send order updates and, if you opted in, promotional email
• Improve the site, prevent fraud, and keep the store secure
• Comply with law and resolve disputes
• Publish MJTrends marketing on our own social accounts, as described below

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or redistribute data obtained from social platforms.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart, and understand how the site is used. Analytics may include Matomo (self-hosted) and Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser; some checkout and account features may not work without them.

Social platform APIs

MJTrends operates first-party accounts on Pinterest (pinterest.com/mjtrends), Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube to share our own product photos, DIY looks, tutorials, and shop links.

We use the Pinterest API only for our own business account. Typical uses:

• Create Pins on our own boards (product images, Shop the Look / DIY pages, blog posts, and sale fabrics)
• Read our own boards, Pins, and account analytics so we can see what we published

This is not a third-party app for other Pinterest users. We do not offer Pinterest login to customers. We do not collect Pinterest passwords or session cookies. Access is through OAuth with tokens stored only as needed to operate our own account. We do not sell, resell, or redistribute Pinterest content or Pinterest-derived data. MJTrends is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest.

If we disconnect the Pinterest integration, we stop using the API and delete stored Pinterest access and refresh tokens within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.

The same first-party approach applies to Instagram, Facebook, and X: we post as MJTrends using official APIs or the platform’s own tools. We do not use those APIs to take actions on other people’s accounts.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run the store:

• Shipping carriers (for example FedEx and USPS) to deliver orders
• Payment processors (Elavon Converge and PayPal)
• Email and hosting providers that operate our website and mail
• Social platforms, only for content we publish on our own accounts

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect MJTrends, our customers, or others.

How long we keep information

Order, tax, and accounting records are kept as long as needed for those purposes. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Forum content stays until you or we remove it. Analytics data is kept in aggregate or for a limited period for site improvement. Pinterest tokens are kept only while the integration is active, then deleted as described above.

Your choices

• Update your account information when logged in, or email us
• Unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in those messages
• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by emailing sales@MJTrends.com. We may keep information we are required to retain (for example completed orders).

If you are in a jurisdiction with additional privacy rights (including California), you can use the same email to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights.

Children

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
