We’re deep into winter at this point, although around here we haven’t had much of the white stuff. Regardless, we figured we would post some of our favorite winter latex and vinyl fashions before we lost our chance.
First up are vinyl puff jackets. These have really taken off this year – even Kelly Ripa has been spotted sporting the look. If you already have one you might want to consider making one for your little guy or girl because after all there is nothing cuter than making that pudgy little mess of yours even cuter with a pudgier puff jacket 🙂
Next up was Felder Felder’s Winter 2013 collection that they showed off at London’s Fashion Week. They had some brilliant mixes of latex sheeting with Monglolian wool, velvet, and quilted fabrics among others. Their red vinyl coat, leggings, and matching sweater screamed passion on those dreariest of winter days. We were both inspired and awed at the Felder sisters creativity and show.

I didn’t expect vinyl puff jackets to catch on this hard, but seeing Kelly Ripa wear one really made it feel mainstream. The idea of making a mini version for kids is oddly adorable and kind of hilarious.
I’ve been on the fence about vinyl puff jackets, but the way you described them taking off this year makes me reconsider. They seem like a fun statement piece rather than just practical outerwear.
The red vinyl coat paired with leggings and a matching sweater must have been such a bold look against dreary winter weather. I can picture it really standing out on gray days.
Mixing latex sheeting with softer materials like velvet sounds like a smart way to make the look more wearable. Pure latex can feel intense, but those combinations probably balance it nicely.
I like how you highlighted color with that red vinyl outfit instead of sticking to typical winter blacks and grays. It makes winter dressing feel less dull and more expressive.
That Felder Felder collection sounds incredible, especially the mix of latex with Mongolian wool and velvet. It’s not a combo you’d immediately think of, but it clearly worked on the runway.
Interesting how you mentioned not getting much snow, yet still leaning into heavy winter textures like quilted fabrics and wool. It shows how much of winter fashion is about mood, not just weather.
The whole post makes winter fashion seem a lot more exciting than usual, especially with materials like latex and vinyl being front and center. It’s a refreshing break from standard coats and knits.
The mention of London Fashion Week really puts this in a high-fashion context. It’s cool seeing how runway ideas like these trickle down into everyday winter looks.
Honestly, the idea of putting kids in puffed-up vinyl jackets is both cute and slightly over the top, but I get the appeal. It definitely leans into that playful side of fashion.
Felder Felder always push boundaries, but combining latex with Mongolian wool feels especially inventive. It’s a texture contrast that probably looks amazing in motion.
