Halloween Costumes – Vinyl

Time is running out! Halloween is rapidly approaching, and if you’re still drawing a blank when it comes to costume ideas, today is your day. Whether you’re looking for a cute kid’s DIY or playing dress up with your cat, here are some great ways to use vinyl fabric for all sorts of Halloween costumes!

Sometimes, simple is best. Charlie Brown of “Peanuts” fame has an easy costume that can be made when you’re in a time crunch. Take a yellow sweatshirt and add several layers of vinyl to create that signature zig-zag design. Pair with jeans, sneakers and you (or your son) are all set to try and kick a football with Lucy.

Step right and fall in line with another easy costume DIY, the toy soldier. Kids will have a blast in this Toy Story recreation, use green vinyl fabric to create this loose military silhouette. Add in a hard head helmet, buckled straps and weaponry to complete the costume. For another clever choice, create an Edward Scissorhands costume with black vinyl fabric. To finish off the grunge-inspired look, add in belts, grommets and use plastic silverware as fingers for the gloves.

Rumors have been floating around about an upcoming Zoolander 2, so what better way to celebrate than with a Mugatu costume? Another perfectly easy DIY choice, simply add “MUGATU” vinyl letterings onto a gray sweater and accessorize.

In the meantime, you might want to practice your best Will Ferrel impersonation. Ladies, vinyl is a great way to make a statement during Halloween, found in a plethora of hot costume options. Mix things up with some Eastern influence, and go for a ninja assassin look.

Opt for bold red vinyl fabric and keep things sexy with a plunging neckline. Vinyl catsuits are definitely having a moment. You’ll turn heads and stop traffic with a curve hugging bodysuit for a sexy SWAT costume.

Let’s not forget about your pet! Get creative and create some scaled armor for a medieval-inspired look. Happy Halloween!
