For many American women, Donna Karan has become an icon, a quintessential part of the fashion world since the eighties. Karan’s career began at Anne Klein, where she transitioned from assistant designer to head of design. It wasn’t until she launched her own label in 1984, wih her husband Stephan Weiss and Takihyo, until she began to be recognized for her “Seven Easy Pieces” collection, made up of wearable jersey separates.

In 1988, Karan launched “DKNY” which plucked stars like Demi Moore and Bruce Willis for advertising campaigns.
