From chic skinnies to edgy biker jackets, leather is an undeniable fall staple. This season, don’t be shy. It’s time to take a cue from the fashionable ladies at London Fashion Week and shine with leather looks. Selena Gomez unveiled a gothic inspired look at the Louis Vuitton Series 3 Launch party.
Wearing a maxi length black leather dress, Gomez looked elegant and poised beyond her years. The silver accents and long line zipper definitely added intrigue, while the capelet design added a theatrical element to the vampy dress. She completed the glamorous look by sweeping back her hair, toting a simple clutch and black polish. Go for a goth-glam look like Selena by rocking a leather dress this season.
Mix up your fashion routine with a leather biker jacket or skinnies. A plaid-shirt and jeans might be your typical everyday look, but swap out a button up shirt for a tough motorcycle jacket. Layer a cropped shirt underneath and pair with high waisted skinnies for off-duty model vibes. Or, take a cue from Paloma Faith and lightly drape a leather biker jacket over your shoulders.
Paloma looked sophisticated with her girly skater dress, and prepared for anything with her boyish leather moto jacket. Looking chic and effortless, FKA Twigs went for a masculine inspired look, wearing a long line leather jacket over a fitted LBD with silver accents. Men, take on the trend in an unexpected way by wearing a blazer and button up underneath, creating a mix of proper meets punk. Leather skinnies are chic and a definite fall staple, but we love how Kimberely Garner opted for a pair in red. Quilted detailing and zippers make these luxe skinnies even more drool-worthy!
British It-girl Jourdan Dunn shows us all how to sport leather this season, in the best way possible. The model looked gorgeous at Burberry and Topshop Unique, wearing killer leather looks on both occasions. At Topshop, Dunn looked stunning with a striped turtleneck sweater neatly tucked into an embellished leather mini. Flaunting legs for days, Jourdan nailed this look with an ultra chic leather skirt with floral accents.
Pair with delicate ankle strap heels and chic black polish for a finishing touch. At Burberry, Dunn kept things under wraps with a furry chester coat, crewneck sweatshirt and leather skater skirt. Showing us that less is more, she complimented her look with cut out ankle booties and minimal accessories. At Topshop Unique Spring/Summer 2016, there was one lovely leather look we’d love to wear right now. A stand out leather top featured layers of texture in the form of twists and gathers. In contrast, an asymmetrical floral skirt looks perfect for warm weather days.
Even though we can’t fast forward to next season already, we have plenty of leather fashion inspiration to last us all winter long! Check out some of our clever DIY tutorials on our blog and a plethora of leather fabric options available here at MJTrends.

The Paloma Faith styling tip of just draping a biker jacket over a skater dress is surprisingly wearable, and it keeps the outfit from feeling too heavy while still hitting that leather trend.
I appreciated the mention of menswear with a blazer and button-up under leather, since most posts ignore guys; the proper-meets-punk angle feels easy to try without going overboard.
The textured leather top with twists and gathers from Topshop Unique was a cool contrast against the floral skirt, and it’s nice seeing leather styled for warmer weather instead of just winter.
Jourdan Dunn’s Topshop look with the striped turtleneck tucked into an embellished leather mini felt really practical for fall, especially paired with simple ankle strap heels and minimal accessories.
That Selena Gomez capelet leather dress with the long zipper sounds dramatic in a good way; I like how the article balances that glam look with everyday ideas like swapping a plaid shirt for a moto jacket.
Kimberely Garner’s red leather skinnies with quilted detailing and zippers were my favorite callout here, because they show leather doesn’t have to stick to basic black to look luxe.
