Comic-con NY latex & vinyl

Cosplay kings and queens were in full effect all weekend long at New York Comic Con 2015, proudly displaying stretch faux leather and latex outfits. From feisty Catwoman costumes to a seriously deadly 9 foot tall Hulkbuster suit, there were diverse cosplays from all types of fandom. Let’s recap some of the most mesmerizing looks from this epic convention.

Me-ow! One sultry diva took her Catwoman costume to a whole new level by wearing a fitted latex bodysuit and a matching set of pointed ears. Another Gotham gal took her look to a playful direction, sporting a full boned corset and a set of glasses. Going for a seriously badass, dominatrix-inspired look, a fellow Catwoman wore a latex bodysuit with a waist-cinching corset and knee high lace up boots. Don’t forget a bold lip and heavy eyeliner to really amp up the volume.

Others went for a more theatrical approach, wearing a full latex bodysuit featuring chevron stripes in black and white. Feminine details, like cut out hearts and a gigantic red bow on the front, give this outfit extra charm. Talk about professional, one cosplayer sported a headdress along with a complex hairstyle of gravity defying curls.

In a similar style, another cosplayer also wore a latex outfit, truly embodying Raven from Teen Titans. She opted for a long voluminous blue cloak, along with a blue latex bodysuit and matching knee high stockings. To enhance her comic-inspired look, she added long latex arm warmers and an oversized gold belt to complete her look.

Just seeing all of this incredible cosplay leaves us itching to get started on a project of our own. Convention addicts have already started the countdown til next year. Ready to begin? Make sure to check out MJTrends for all of your stretch faux leather and latex fabric needs.

I found it cool that even within darker looks like the dominatrix Catwoman, the article still highlighted styling choices like boots and corsetry rather than just the suit.

Riley Harper

It’s interesting how the article highlights stretch faux leather alongside latex, since both materials give that sleek comic-book look but with slightly different comfort levels.

Logan Wren

I appreciated the nod to makeup with the bold lip and heavy eyeliner, because those details really do elevate a latex costume beyond just the outfit itself.

Finley Hart

Reading about multiple Catwoman interpretations back to back really shows how popular that character is for latex and faux leather experimentation.

Parker Jules

The contrast between the dominatrix-inspired Catwoman with knee high lace up boots and the playful corset-and-glasses version was a nice touch, showing how one character can be interpreted so differently.

Casey Rowan

It’s nice that the article points out both simple fitted bodysuits and more complex builds, since not everyone has the time or skill for something like Hulkbuster.

Robin Tate

Seeing the black and white chevron latex bodysuit with heart cutouts and a giant red bow sounded unexpectedly cute and theatrical, which isn’t what I usually picture with latex.

Morgan Ellis

The description of gravity defying curls with a headdress made me curious how long that took to style, since hair can be just as demanding as the latex pieces.

Finley Hart

That 9 foot Hulkbuster mention really puts into perspective how far people go at NYCC, but I loved how the article still focused on the detailed latex Catwoman variations.

Hayden Sloane

The glasses on the playful Catwoman version add such a subtle twist, making it feel more like a character reinterpretation than a straight comic copy.

Robin Tate

I can imagine how the fitted latex bodysuit with pointed ears created that classic Catwoman silhouette, especially with the emphasis on sleek lines.

Riley Harper

That theatrical chevron pattern outfit seems like it would stand out in a sea of darker costumes, especially with the bold red bow front and center.

Sydney Lane

The blue-on-blue layering in the Raven outfit sounds visually striking, especially with the cloak adding movement over the shinier latex base.

Morgan Ellis

The waist-cinching corset layered over a latex bodysuit really stood out to me as a clever way to add structure without losing that glossy finish.

Jamie Brooks

Ending with encouragement to start a project makes sense after showcasing so many detailed looks, because it definitely sparks ideas for mixing latex with other costume elements.

Logan Wren

The idea of combining long latex arm warmers with an oversized gold belt for Raven is such a smart way to emphasize comic accuracy without overcomplicating things.

Drew Collins

That Raven cosplay sounded spot on, especially with the long blue cloak paired with a latex bodysuit and those matching stockings to tie everything together.

Taylor Quinn

I like that the recap didn’t just list costumes but pointed out feminine details like cut-out hearts and bows, which add personality beyond the usual superhero aesthetic.

Emerson Gray

The mention of convention addicts already counting down to next year feels accurate, especially after seeing such elaborate builds like the Hulkbuster suit.
