Latex for GQ India

Latex-dress-Shruti-Haasan-GQ-IndiaBeloved Bollywood superstar Shruti Haasan recently wore a fitted latex dress and bustier for GQ India.  Looking seriously sultry, the actress sported a bold red latex dress with a deep v neckline. The dress fit like a glove, accentuating Shruti’s impeccable figure.

Her hair was styled in soft waves, evoking a retro, pin-up girl vibe. “I always believed in swimming against the tide a little bit,” she told the menswear magazine.  Although Shruti Haasan is most well known for her movie roles, she also has a passion for music. At seven years old, Shruti had her very first acapella performance, and is still going strong, twenty-three years after the fact.

“There’s just been nothing else that gave me that feeling,” she stated. In the last photo of the shoot, Shruti rocked a unique latex bustier, designed by none other than Atsuko Kudo. Flaunting her figure in every way, the Bollywood actres looked fierce and confident with her latex ensembles. It’s a new season—-so it’s time for a fresh start! I liked how the article tied Shruti’s music background into the fashion piece, especially the detail about her first acapella performance at seven still influencing her drive today.

Her quote about swimming against the tide fits perfectly with choosing latex for a GQ India feature, which still feels pretty unconventional in that space.

The transition from talking about her career to suggesting a wardrobe refresh with latex sheeting felt a bit promotional, but it ties back to the theme of reinvention.
