Me-ow! Ashley James had all eyes on her with a bold latex dress while heading to Cosmopolitan’s #FashFest 2016 VIP Show in London. The party was held at Old Billingsgate Market on September 15th, 2016, and the former Made in Chelsea star looked dressed to impress. A sleeveless latex dress looks totally chic on its own, but when found in an edgy hue like bold orange, it’s such a fun way to turn up the volume.
Looking fierce as ever, Ashley has certainly come a long way with learning self-acceptance. She recently went public with her past history of insecurities and body-shaming. “It’s a horrible thing because I lost perception of my own body and how I looked, so even though I knew I was wearing size eight clothes my eyes would see me as fat. ‘It was very stressful, but I’m in a much much happier place with my body – going to Barry’s Bootcamp and exercising regularly has helped that,” She told Mail Online.
At #FashFest, James stole the spotlight in her latex tangerine dress. With a v-neck cut down the center, the dress lightly skimmed her curves. An elegant choice, a midi length hit just above her knee, and she definitely slayed all night with this latex look. She styled her dress with a matching satchel bag in orange and a pair of peep-toe heels in teal. The model also works as a DJ and writer while living in London. She hosts her own radio show on Hoxton Radio every Friday from 2pm – 4pm, and she’s also hosted a series of style shows like Style Stars on PopGirlTV.

I appreciated the note about Barry’s Bootcamp helping her confidence, since it ties her personal growth into why she carried the look so well.
The detail about the midi length hitting just above the knee stood out, since latex can easily look overdone but this cut sounded surprisingly elegant.
The Old Billingsgate Market setting combined with that bright orange dress must have made her stand out instantly in a sea of darker event outfits.
Interesting to read about her balancing DJ work and hosting on Hoxton Radio while still making such a strong fashion statement at FashFest.
Her matching orange satchel with the dress felt like a risky move, yet it seems to have pulled the whole look together instead of clashing.
The v-neck cut down the center sounds like it added just enough shape to the latex without making it feel too costume-like or over the top.
That tangerine latex dress really was a bold choice, and pairing it with teal peep-toe heels could have gone wrong but somehow worked perfectly for the event.
I liked how the article mentioned her self-acceptance journey alongside the outfit, especially the quote about struggling with body image despite wearing a size eight.
