Every so often we like to give a shout out to independent fashion designers who are creating novel and interesting designs. With the advent of the internet latex and vinyl fashion has blossomed with more and more independent designers joining the fray and adding their own twist to what was once primarily an underground fashion.
In it’s infancy, latex fashion could only be found in two outlets – Latexa which sold primarily basic molded latex like hoods, leggings, and gloves mostly in black, or Macintosh jackets. Today, there are a plethora of fashions made from rubber including cosplay catsuits of your favorite Marvel characters, designs specialized for those with curvy bodies, and intricate lingerie with laser cut lace.
There is something for everyone, whether you want to engage in heavy rubber in the bedroom, or surprise your co-workers by wearing a latex pencil skirt with a peplum to an office soiree. Below we take a look at a couple new upstarts in the latex and vinyl fashion world.
Lady Lucie creates clothing, lingerie, corsets, and costumes from latex sheeting. Her specialty is elegant and glamorous pieces that are both fun to wear and beautiful. The business was launched in 2006 by Lucie who self-describes herself as a true “Glamazonian”.
Lucie is a trained pattern cutter with a degree in fashion and textiles and her goal with every design is to bring the principles of haute couture to rubber and latex fashion. Each item is handmade in her London workshop and is customized to the size and body of the customer.
Clients include well known names including Marvel & Warner Brothers, the Performing Arts Circus Company, and other celebrities who adore her fashions. If you’re in the UK you are also likely to bump into her wearing some of her amazing fashions at various clubs and events in the fetish, club, and cosplay scene.

There are a ton of fashions available on her Etsy store and website and we’ll highlight just a few of our favorites. First up is her navy and white striped latex bodysuit.
At MJTrends we have toyed with the idea of offering a white and navy stripe fabric in either vinyl or latex and we know exactly how much labor is involved with cutting those strips and gluing them together. It’s no joke! (Which is why we never moved forward with it). Regardless, we respect the labor and work that Lucie has put into making this design, and if you’re taking a cruise or spending anytime on a boat you must have one of these!
Another favorite of ours is Lucie’s five-piece latex lingerie set aptly named “The Sundown Set”. If you’re bored with what’s on offer at the big box stores like Victoria’s Secret, JCrew, Yandy, Calvin Klien, etc, then latex can be the material that elevates your bedroom experience to something novel that will wow and surprise your partner.
Latex is smooth and soft to the touch. The material transfers temperature much easier than standard fabrics, thereby enhancing touch and caresses. Add to that the visual experience of a perfecting fitting outfit that gleams and attracts the eye and you’ve got something that will be unforgettable.
Lucie describes her three layered belted peplum as her best selling and most iconic item. Made with thick latex that gives it that flowing shape, it can look great worn alone or over dresses, skirts, or lingerie.
If you are looking to mix and match latex with standard fabrics like cotton or synthetics, the peplum skirt can be that item that you can wear in the bedroom, to the club, or on the street.
You can find her fashions available for purchase at both her website and on Etsy:

MTSWear, founded in 2023, focuses on vinyl and satin fashions. Their mission statement is the commitment “to the vision of combining sporty elegance and functionality in perfect harmony”. Their company prides itself on creating high-quality sportswear that is suitable for both training and everyday wear. With a focus on shorts, pants and tracksuits, they combine innovative materials with modern design to create garments that offer freedom of movement and style.
Recently founded in 2023 and selling primarily via their Etsy storefront, you can find a wide variety of mens track suits, shorts, swimwear, and jackets. To us, MTS feels like a throwback to 80’s style mixed with the luxury of satin or the sleekness of vinyl. If that sounds like something you’d like, then you must check them out.

Their reviews are outstanding and they have a range of patterns that they confidently produce in a wide variety of color patterns. As of today they show over 4,100 successful sales in just under two years of being in business. Based out of Eppelheim Germany, you know they have a critical eye for construction and detail. Perhaps we should call them the BMW of men’s vinyl and satin performance wear!
If you’d like to try your hand at making your own vinyl sports wear, we offer a huge selection of 4-way stretch vinyl fabric or if you prefer a more muted tone, we have matte spandex with a rubber-like coating and faux leather fabrics.
Regardless, make sure you checkout MTS and let us know in the comments if you have other independent creators or businesses that we should review.

The Sundown Set description actually made me reconsider latex for lingerie, especially the part about temperature transfer enhancing touch. That’s something fabric just can’t replicate.
The 80s throwback vibe for MTSWear mixed with modern materials sounds like a fun niche, especially for people who want something athletic but still flashy.
Lady Lucie bringing haute couture principles into latex is such an interesting angle, especially with her background in pattern cutting and textiles. It explains why her pieces look so structured and refined.
I didn’t realize how limited latex fashion used to be with just Latexa basics and Macintosh jackets, so seeing things like Marvel cosplay catsuits and lace lingerie now really shows how far it’s come.
It’s impressive that Lady Lucie has clients like Marvel and Warner Brothers while still producing handmade custom pieces out of a London workshop.
Hearing that MTSWear launched in 2023 and already has thousands of sales makes me curious how quickly this niche is growing compared to traditional fashion markets.
MTSWear’s focus on sporty elegance feels like a totally different direction compared to the lingerie-heavy latex scene, especially with tracksuits and swimwear in vinyl and satin.
I didn’t expect to see Etsy playing such a big role for both brands, but it makes sense given how indie designers reach audiences now.
I appreciate the mention of how smooth and soft latex is, because a lot of people assume it’s stiff or uncomfortable when it’s actually quite the opposite.
Calling MTS the BMW of vinyl and satin performance wear made me laugh, but the German construction detail and 4,100 sales back it up.
The three layered belted peplum being wearable in the bedroom, club, or street really shows how versatile latex has become beyond niche settings.
The article does a good job showing the spectrum from glamorous couture latex to functional vinyl sportswear, which I hadn’t really thought of as related before.
That navy and white striped bodysuit sounds like a nightmare to assemble, so I get why you never produced it yourselves. Makes me appreciate Lady Lucie’s craftsmanship even more.
The idea of mixing latex with cotton or synthetics using something like that peplum is a great entry point for people who aren’t ready for full rubber outfits.
I like how the article highlights options for curvy bodies, since latex used to feel very limited in sizing and inclusivity. Custom handmade pieces sound like a huge step forward.
Seeing latex styled as an office-appropriate pencil skirt with a peplum is wild, but it makes sense given how polished some of these designs have become.
