gluing pvc fabric

I'm trying to get an airtight seam with vinyl fabric. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to do this? Perhaps the use of an adhesive of some kind to bind the fabric together instead of sewing it?

Thanks

I've never tried to achieve an airtight seam with vinyl, but I would recommend taking apart a similar item and seeing how the previous manufacturer did it.

I suspect you will have a sewn seam on the exterior that carries the load of the seam, and then on the interior of the seam you will see a glued strip that serves to prevent air from leaking through.

You could use liquid latex on the back of the fabric, then once that has adhered, glue a strip of latex sheeting across the breadth of the seam. Good Luck!

I have used the automotive kits found in stores like Wal-Mart to glue vinyl and plastics. I think it is recommended for use with automotive vinyl, so I don't know if that would help. Seems like it would be good for what you intend.

Hi, can you tell exactly what is the brand/name of that kit? Thank you
