Heat shrinking PVC

Hi,

I was wondering if I can use a heat gun on a low setting in order to get the stretch pvc to form to a round helmet.  I am trying to avoid using adhesive.  Any suggestions on what type of material would be best for this type of application? Or will I have to use some sort of adhesive regardless of material type? Thank you in advance for your time.

It's unclear from your description what you\'re trying to do.  Do you have an existing helmet that you want to wrap in vinyl?

I don\'t think you can shrink wrap vinyl fabric with heat.  It has a fabric backing.  Shrink wrapping via heat is usually done with only a vinyl / plastic substrate - one that has no fabric backing.

I feel like the heat gun wouldn't work, but I have never tried that method before. Here is a tutorial about vinyl over foam, and one part shows how to do it on rounded surfaces http://z4.invisionfree.com/transcostumers/index.php?showtopic=760
