With Season 5 slated for next Spring 2015, Game of Thrones fans everywhere are all in withdrawal. Have a laugh with this amusing snippet of Game of Thrones, completely re-enacted by a trio of leather-clad pugs. The owners, Philip Lauer and his wife, Sue, have been dressing up their dogs in various costumes since they were puppies.
TV streaming service, blinkbox, reached out to the couple and asked them about creating a mini-movie. Sue, a professional photographer and designer, jumped at the prospect and spent weeks creating the costumes and props. The final debut of the mini-movie took months of preparation, and the results are nothing short of epic.
The beautiful costumes of Game of Thrones were given an Emmy award for “Outstanding Costumes For A Series” this year. The pugs, named Roxy, Blue and Bono sported all-leather looks and brought the Game of Thrones cast to life.
Imitating Jon Snow, Ned Stark, Daenerys Targaryen and other iconic Game of Thrones characters, the level of care and detail was surprising for a doggie wardrobe. Tyrion Lannister’s costume looked oh-so realistic, featuring two tones of red and black leather, floral embroidery and lace-up detailing at the chest. Hilarious and adorable, this clip has reached over 2 million views on Youtube alone. Watch the clip, The Pugs of Westeros here.

The fact that they’ve been dressing the dogs since they were puppies explains how comfortable they look on camera. It doesn’t feel forced, just three very patient little actors.
Seeing Jon Snow and Ned Stark reimagined as leather-clad pugs is such a weirdly perfect idea. It’s goofy, but the attention to costume detail keeps it from feeling cheap.
Honestly, the Tyrion costume description alone had me laughing, but also admiring the craftsmanship with the floral embroidery. It’s wild how much effort went into a short pug video.
I like that this wasn’t just quick cosplay but months of prep for a proper mini-movie. You can tell Sue’s background as a photographer and designer really shaped the final result.
I didn’t expect blinkbox to commission something like this, but the mini-movie idea clearly paid off given the 2 million views. Roxy, Blue, and Bono actually sell the characters.
The bit about Sue spending weeks crafting the costumes really shows, especially in Tyrion’s red and black leather with the lace-up chest detail. That level of accuracy for pugs is kind of impressive.
Those Emmy-winning costume references make the parody even funnier, because you can see how seriously they translated that detail into dog outfits. The Daenerys look must have been tricky to adapt.
That two-tone leather and lace-up detail on Tyrion’s outfit stood out to me too, especially since it mirrors the show’s award-winning designs. It’s more thoughtful than most parody videos.
