Tim Gunn – Illusion Gowns

With Lifetime set for it’s upcoming premiere of Project Runway Season 14, it’s true,Tim Gunn has shown us all how to “make it work” for years. When it comes to the nude illusion gowns from the 2015 Met Gala, the 61-year-old fashion mentor had quite a lot on his mind about the matter. Although many celebs like Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez embraced the trend, Gunn thought the transparent dresses were vulgar, distasteful and disrespectful overall to the event. While Gunn didn’t like the transparency at the Gala – we offer some designs with transparent latex that even Tim Gunn would approve.

Glossy and chic, one transparent latex outfit teams a puff sleeve blouse with a voluminous skater skirt. Crazy for couture? Atsuko Kudo nailed it with a gorgeous, full-length scalloped cup gown in semi-transparent cloud grey lace. The antique gold tassel earrings complete this vintage-friendly look.

Keep things chic with chandelier earrings and a chain cross-body bag.  From latex couture gowns to sugary sweet babydoll dresses, there are tons of transparent latex alternatives to the daring illusion gowns at the Met, and Tim Gunn himself might even reconsider his take on the matter.
