Biker chic leather and pretty lace looks were abound at Burberry’s Womenswear Collection for Spring and Summer 2016. Straying away from the more classic khaki trench coats, Burberry unveiled an edgy biker jacket down the runway. Featuring natural grain lambskin and ornate details, like gold cording, this is one key piece that works season after season. The metallic detailing carries a heavy influence from twentieth century motoring styles. The stand out piece looks incredible, and we wish we could wear it for this season and beyond.
A leather motorcycle jacket makes a statement on its own, so pair with neutral pieces for maintain balance. Burberry styled the jacket with a flirty LBD and a bold red lip, perfect for a punk rock princess. This year’s menswear collection also featured a puffed up parka jacket, complete with leather detailing on the edges. This cool, youthful detail steers you away from sporting an expedition style North Face jacket and into the realm of street-ready fashion.
Lace may conjure up images of overly girly items, like headbands and bows, but there are so many fresh ways to wear the trend. Retro-inspired and cool, lace picks don’t always have to be dainty. Burberry opted for neutral colors like white, beige and tan, keeping things casual with simple lines and shapes. Florals for spring is nothing new, but with the sighting of a killer biker jacket, we’re loving this new direction for next season from Burberry.
