MJTrends checkout issues

UPDATE (Friday, October 25th)- we are able to process credit cards, but the response is delayed. If your transaction fails, you will get an email up to 24 hours after the order has been submitted.

We hope to have this resolved by end of week next week (October 30th to November 1st) such that the credit card processing is in real time again.

As of Monday, October 21st, we are experiencing problems accepting credit cards over the last several days and we have removed the option from the website until we are able to get it resolved. We cannot accept credit cards over the phone or via the website until the issue is fixed.

You can mail a check or leverage PayPal until we get the problem resolved. At this time we expect it to be another 4-5 days from today (Thursday, October 24th) until it’s fixed.

You can also purchase from our Etsy store in the meantime: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MJTrends

The mention of emails arriving up to 24 hours later would have saved me from retrying multiple times and possibly creating duplicate orders.

The update about partial restoration but delayed responses is useful, since it explains why some people might see inconsistent behavior during checkout.

Appreciate the transparency about the 4-5 day estimate from October 24th, even though it’s a bit frustrating not being able to use cards right now.

Kendall Reese

The note about delayed responses even when cards are processing again is important, because I would have assumed the transaction just failed instead of waiting up to 24 hours for confirmation.

Honestly, the timeline mentioning both October 30th and November 1st gives a clearer expectation than vague promises, which I appreciate during issues like this.

Drew Collins

I tried placing an order on October 23rd and was confused when the credit card option disappeared, so this explanation about removing it temporarily really helps clear things up.

Having both PayPal and Etsy as alternatives makes the situation manageable, even if the lack of direct credit card processing is inconvenient right now.

Hayden Sloane

I wish there was a banner on the checkout page earlier, because I spent time retrying before realizing credit cards were temporarily removed.

Finley Hart

It’s good that you clarified you can’t take credit cards over the phone either, since that was going to be my next workaround.

Drew Collins

I’m glad you posted specific dates like October 21st and 24th, because it helps track whether my earlier order attempts were affected.

Avery Morgan

I had a failed transaction earlier this week and didn’t get why, but the delayed email explanation makes sense now and explains the lag I experienced.

Reese Palmer

The Etsy store suggestion is actually helpful since I didn’t realize MJTrends had one, so at least there’s still a way to order without waiting.

Blair Sutton

Using checks feels a bit outdated, but I get that it’s one of the few backup options while the processor is being fixed.

Quinn Avery

Switching to PayPal worked fine for me, but it would have been nice to know sooner that credit cards were completely disabled starting October 21st.

Morgan Ellis

I didn’t realize the issue had been ongoing for several days before October 21st, so this timeline helps piece together what’s been happening.

Robin Tate

It’s reassuring that the issue is expected to be resolved by early next week, though I’ll probably stick with PayPal until real-time processing is confirmed.
