Nine days from this morning, Animate! Philadelphia opens at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. Cloth ordered today can still make the floor. A first catsuit cannot. New York Comic Con is the weekend after that, October 8–11. Halloween is October 31. This post is a city guide plus honest ship math — not a promise that a box leaves Virginia and arrives before Friday’s 4 p.m. open.
GalaxyCon is running an animation-and-anime weekend: panels, Q&As, tabletop and video games, a costume contest, cosplay wrestling, and an exhibit hall. The 2026 hour-by-hour schedule is not posted yet. Hours are. Friday 4 p.m.–1 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–1 a.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Exhibit hall: Friday 4–9, Saturday 10–8, Sunday 10–5. Why this floor
Oaks is not Center City. You drive, or you stay on Cresson Boulevard and walk. The Expo Center sits off Route 422 with a large surface lot. That is useful if you are hauling a garment bag and a repair kit. It is less useful if you wanted a train-to-the-door con. King of Prussia is about eight miles. Phoenixville’s Bridge Street is about ten minutes. Valley Forge National Historical Park is about four miles. The costume work still happens at home, on a custom-fit pattern, not in a hotel bathroom on Friday.
One-size costumes fail at the first fitting. If the piece has to sit, walk, and photograph, start from measurements. Custom-fit patterns live on the pattern page. Order the pattern the same day as the cloth.
Stay
Book the official list if you want their Fast Pass perk — one Fast Pass per room, picked up at Information, and it is not an admission ticket. Their hotel page still carries leftover copy from another city. Confirm the Oaks properties on the Animate hotel page before you pay. Rates below are ordinary-night bands, not a locked con quote. Con weekends run higher.

The Expo Center lot is large. HotelPlanner’s venue page lists free event parking and thousands of spaces. Confirm on GalaxyCon’s parking note for this show; some events add a VIP lot. We are not inventing a shuttle that the 2026 page does not list.
Eat
Oaks itself is slim on independent restaurants. Phoenixville is the actual dinner. Ten minutes. Bridge Street does the work.
Close and fast. Oaks Italian Deli — the non-chain in Oaks that locals actually name. Roast pork, sandwiches, back before the next panel. Nudy’s Cafe sits just over 422 if you need breakfast that is not a hotel tray.
Bridge Street, Phoenixville. Vecchia (249 Bridge) — Neapolitan pizza, dinner hours, closed Monday. Great American Pub (148 Bridge) — American bar-and-grill in the old Columbia Hotel; they list vegan and gluten-free items. Il Granaio (184 Bridge) — housemade pasta, patio when Bridge Street is closed to cars. Paloma’s (101 Bridge) — sit-down, historic building, Sunday brunch if you are not on the floor at 10.
Those are addresses and what the restaurants say they cook. They are not star ratings. If you need a mall food court, King of Prussia is the eight-mile option, not the interesting one.
Do
Valley Forge National Historical Park is about four miles. A half-day off the floor: roads, earthworks, a visitor center. Sore feet and a full costume do not belong on the long trails. Go in street clothes Sunday after close, or skip it.
Phoenixville at night is the other half-day: Bridge Street, a short walk between doors, no interstate. King of Prussia Mall is the emergency notions run if a zipper fails and you refuse to sew it in the hotel. Philadelphia proper is a 30–40 minute drive depending on 76. Do not plan a Liberty Bell morning and a 10 a.m. exhibit-hall open. You will miss one of them.
Tracks
Until the 2026 grid is public, use what they already advertise. Costume contest — they put more than $4,000 in cash on the page, plus medals. Panels and guest Q&As. Tabletop and video gaming. Cosplay wrestling. Exhibit hall. Prop rules exist; read them before you pack anything that looks like a weapon. Guest lists move. We are not treating a rumor as a schedule.
If you only have energy for one programming bucket, make it the contest or the hall. Sitting through a panel in a new catsuit you finished at 3 a.m. is how seams fail. Sit in the garment at home first.
Sew / pack
Nine days is a finish window, not a start-from-zero catsuit window. If the cloth is not in the house, order it today and keep the silhouette small: a skirt, a vest, a jacket. Non-stretch black and brown faux leather are on the shelf at full price — 21264 black and 21265 brown, $12.99. They hold a line. They do not sit like 4-way. Pair them with a custom-fit pattern, not a guessed envelope size.
