Stretch vinyl cheerleading outfits stir up controversy

Me-ow! Clad head to toe in black stretch vinyl, the latest outfits for the Panthers Cheer Squad are looking to turn up the heat for this season of the NRL. The Penrith Panthers cheer squad was in desperate need of a wardrobe upgrade, and marketing manager Anthony Frantzis came to the rescue with a sultry new revamp.

Playing with the idea of being a “Pantherette”, the outfits are a far cry from the frilly pink outfits worn during last year’s season. The new look features an all black stretch vinyl catsuit, with a low v neck design and double buckles at the chest. The outfits are paired with long vinyl gloves and matching heeled boots for a head-to-toe, all black look.

Fierce and seductive, these outfits are in stark contrast to the 2010 outfit which included a purple and pink zip up bodysuit, cut into an unflattering boy cut design and paired with a sequin belt. Although the new outfits may look like leather or latex, they are actually created out of polyester elastane high quality PVC fabric, with a shiny stretch option giving it a more intense gloss and sheen.

The cheerleaders themselves agree that the new outfits are a much better choice for the winter season, as the fabric has more coverage than previous outfits. Citing inspiration from Halle Berry as Catwoman, the new outfits are a big change in the best way possible. Although more traditional outfits show more skin, the Pantherettes agree that you can be more covered up and still look great. Amp up the volume on your own wardrobe with a new look in stretch vinyl fabric, perfect for creating a head-turning look.
